Answer:
Premature breakage and cracking at the weld or heat-affected zone are classic signs of bending fatigue. As the continuous blade cycles around the wheels, it undergoes repeated tensile and compressive stress. If the blade thickness is too large for the wheel diameter, these stresses can exceed the steel’s endurance limit and cause micro-cracks.
Contributing Factors: Excessive blade tension, high feed rate/thrust force, or misaligned wheels that force the blade back edge against the wheel flange.

- Dry: Ensure the blade is thoroughly dried, as moisture is the primary cause of rust.
- Protect:Apply a thin layer of food-grade mineral oil to the blade surface.
- Storage: Keep blades in a clean, dry, climate-controlled area; wrapping with anti-rust paper is preferable.
Q5: Which tooth configuration should I choose for cutting frozen meat versus meat containing hard leg bones?

Answer:

A proper break-in procedure—reduce feed/thrust by 50% for the first 10–15 minutes of cutting—gently rounds and strengthens the cutting edges, maximizing blade life and performance.
